DECCO Inc. Wins its 25th "ABC Excellence in Construction Award" for its Work at Bristol Meyers Squibb
At DECCO, we pride ourselves in being the contractor more owners and construction managers seek out to accomplish their "Mission Impossible" projects and, once again, we proved we could do what few thought possible at the "Cadence Project" in Devens, MA.

The project had a wide variety of process-system modifications to be done in a very strict shutdown window so as to not disturb BMS's manufacturing. Process upgrades included significant piping modifications to several bioreactors from 20,000 L down to the 150L systems. In addition, there was the installation of a new CIP system and all associated piping and modifications to Media Prep, Buffer Prep, Buffer Hold, Harvest, and Purification.

DECCO was responsible for producing detailed design, prefabrication, and work-execution planning for more than 30,000 man-hours of work that had to take place during the nine week rolling shutdown. We peaked out at almost 60 trades working seamlessly with BMS's manufacturing teams and the other construction crews to coordinate our work. DECCO's extraordinary efforts assured that the project was completed on schedule, on-budget, and without a single safety incident.

As a World Class Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility, BMS demands world-class service from its vendors and suppliers and their trust in DECCO to provide what even they thought was "impossible" is proof that what we pride ourselves in is raising the bar for what is "expected" from contractors in our region.

DECCO Says Goodbye to a Long-time Partner, Linda Dussault
Linda Dussault

Executive Assistant Linda Dussault retired on January 3, 2014, after over 15 years at DECCO. During this time Linda wore numerous hats, starting in 1999 as a receptionist then moving to construction administrator then to Executive Assistant. Along the way, Linda was responsible for many other things, such as the setup and administration of the Project Control System, renewals of corporate licenses, preparing DCAM and Pre-Qualification packages, supporting the construction project managers, and coordinating customer events and promotional material. On a personnel level, Linda was always available to just listen or offer advice. A gathering for Linda was held at Baileys Bar & Grill where a number of DECCO partners wished her well, and she was presented with a handcrafted wind chime with a special DECCO touch as it was fabricated in our fab shop.
